Following the success with which a light was placed at all graves on Christmas Eve in 2018, this will happen again in 2019. A brief ceremony makes this memory a useful moment to reflect on all the suffering that is not only caused during the Second World War, but even today, by war and violence. The Lichtjes op Oorlogsgraven is made possible in part by Rotary Club Bergen op Zoom Noord and Rotary Club de Brabantse Wal and the Stichting Bevrijding Brabantse Wal. And many volunteers!

Annual Bergs Beer Festival organized by the Bergsche Bierbrouwer Gilde. Meet well-known and less well-known (special) beers. The historic building of the Provoosthuis and the authentic Potterstraat in the heart of the center of Bergen op Zoom are transformed into bustling festival grounds where curious visitors, enthusiasts and connoisseurs can enjoy good beer from more than 18 breweries with more than 100 beers. In addition to small and young brewers who dare to change and conquer the beer market with daring flavors, there are also the old faithful breweries and other renowned breweries who have already shown their brewing skills at the Bergse Bierfestival several times. As usual, the festival coincides with the Open Bergse Bierbrouwers Championship (OBBK). That this championship can be called a success is evident from the fact that every year, from all over the Netherlands and Belgium, the maximum number of beers to be submitted is reached well before the closing date. The beers are judged by members of the Bier Keurmeesters Guild in the morning and the winners will be officially presented at around 5:30 PM. Visitors, beer lovers and interested parties in beer and beer brewing are very welcome at the festival. Admission is free and you can buy coins at the counter. Consumptions are only tapped in the special glass festival, for rent at the glassware stand and returned to the cashier after the visit.
